"I LOVE Mulled Wine Concerts as they are so intimate.
See you soon
With gratitude, Helen"
Rodger Fox Jazz Ensemble with Erna Ferry
Jazz - lovers in Kapiti will soon have a unique opportunity to hear the very best combo in New Zealand when Rodger Fox and his Jazz Ensemble come to the delightful Memorial Hall in Paekakariki on Sunday 29 May at 2.30.
Organiser Mary Gow adds ..."YES folks, it is TRUE - there will be dancing this time, by popular request. The music will get those shoes tapping.
It is not compulsory and there will be professionals who will be encouraging you up to dance with them. Mulled wine and sangria will be served - both non alcoholic of course, well almost.
Tickets are racing out the doors of the outlets now - so don't forget to mark the date and get a "reserved" seat.
I will reply to your email with banking details and then we post the tickets."
Rodger Fox is New Zealand's foremost jazz trombonist, big band leader, jazz educator and arranger. He is bringing some musicians from the big band, together with special guest jazz singer Erna Ferry.
The concert is part of a now well-established Memorial Day Weekend run by the Kapiti U.S. Marines Trust, Mulled Wine Concerts and the Kapiti Joggers and Walkers Club. It celebrates and commemorates the 74th anniversary of the American armed services 'friendly invasion' of New Zealand from 1942 - 1944.
The concert at 2.30 pm on Sunday ( May 29) sets the scene - celebrating the fun and friendships enjoyed by Kiwis and Marines during this short but intense period.
"This is a great opportunity for people who lived through these times, their children and grandchildren, to visit the Kapiti Coast, enjoy a fantastic swing concert from the legendary Rodger Fox Ensemble", says Mulled Wine Concert organiser Mary Gow.
